art in science® Award Presentation
art in science® Award finalists will be given 20 minutes for the presentation, plus 5 minute question period. Please keep in mind the schedule must be maintained, so please organize your slides appropriately. Presentations should be made in PowerPoint format. All presentations will be copied to a computer in the Speaker Ready Room for presentation purposes. Please organize your embedded files for transport prior to your presentation day. Please visit the speaker ready room either the day before you are scheduled to present or if you are presenting in the afternoon you may load your presentation before lunch.

Oral Presentation
Presenters will be given 10 minutes for the presentation, plus 5 minute question period. Please keep in mind the schedule must be maintained, so please organize your slides appropriately. Presentations should be made in either PowerPoint format.

Poster Presentation
The poster format is A0 (841 mm W x 1189 mm L). The poster session is a Thematic Poster session. All poster presenters are asked to prepare a 3-minute PowerPoint presentation. The presentation can include maximum 2 slides to convey the core idea and potentially the main result of your study. It is not expected that you present any details or a large amount of information. It is rather expected that you convince the listeners to come and see your poster, where you will then have time to provide them with all the details of your work and discuss your findings. The time for the PowerPoint presentation is limited to 3 min (signal after 2:30 min). Posters are to be hung up prior to the first scientific session (before 8:20 a.m. on Thursday, July 28th) and will remain on the boards for the duration of the conference. Pins for fixation will be provided. Please remember to take the poster down at the end of Saturday. All presentations must be loaded on the computer by the end of lunch on the day that you present. The speaker ready room will be available to load presentations.

We are excited to announce a special event on Friday July 29th, 4pm at Guincho Beach. All groups (hiker & biker) will meet at 4pm at Bar do Guincho at Guincho Beach.
Here, we will meet with Klaus Reithmeier - the inventor of the famous Lederhosentraining® from Munich - where he trains with up to 600 people every week.
Klaus will entertain us for 1 hour and you will love it. There is no limitation in age or gender or fitness, it's just fun!
Please note that everybody needs to take part to achieve the free tickets for the same night. The tickets will only be distributed at the beach after Klaus' lecture on Bavarian fitness.
No special dress needed, everybody will bring the bathing dress anyway.

An exciting scientific program that covers the full range of interests of dynamic load distribution was prepared. In addition to keynote addresses given by five keynote speakers, 40 presentations will be presented in six scientific podium sessions, one poster session, and two special sessions. The program also includes invited talks.

Please download the program here.

Lisbon

Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and an exciting city. The cityscape of Lisbon essentially consists of constructions from the 18th century. The center of Lisbon is the Baixa. The old town is characterized by its tiled facades and medieval, narrow streets. The Torre de Belém is one of the most famous landmarks in Lisbon. In 1983, the Unesco nominated the Torre de Belém and the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (Jerónimos Monastery) as World Heritage Site.
Lisbon is a unique and unforgettable experience for those who prefer the city and history, but also for those who searching for nature.

Lisbon is an unique and unforgettable experience. One of the activity highlights in Lisbon is taking a tram tour with the yellow tram lines 28E (grand route) or 12E (short route).
The route of tram line 28E passes through many of Lisbon’s finest districts, including Baixa, Graça, Alfama and Estrela, so that the tour gives you a great overview of Lisbon´s streets and many attractions.

Tickets can be purchased on board (€ 2.85 per single ticket) - from the ticket machine or from the driver. Please note that you will need two tickets for a round trip. Another value option is to purchase an unlimited 24 hour pass, which includes metro, tram and bus services; these tickets cost € 6.00 and can be bought from metro stations, however not on the tram. The number 28E tram is the most popular tram route, departing daily approx. every 8 minutes. The first departure in the morning is around 6:00 and the last departure for the evening is around 21:00. The tram tour takes between 1.5 and 2 hours (back and forth).

By the way, please always step in up front at the driver and step off back - if you do it different you will hear loud protest of the driver. Please also be aware of pickpockets when many tourists are in the tram.
